Sherry Jordan

Sherry has almost 25 years of experience in public accounting, including business valuation, litigation support, financial forensics, collaborative practice, divorce mediation and income tax preparation.  Sherry’s experience includes business valuations for minority shareholder disputes, divorce proceedings, medical practice acquisitions, gift and estate planning, and buy/sell of a business.  Sherry has completed money tracings on various cases, including a $20 million marital dissolution, family real estate holdings, elder abuse, income/payroll tax fraud and she has provided expert witness testimony for the PA Court of Common Pleas and the PA Department of Labor & Industry's Bureau of Mediation.

Latrenda Thompson

Latrenda has 20 years of experience in the business, finance and accounting arena. She started her career with a big four accounting firm in Columbus, Ohio as the tax processor. Her 
ambition, attention to detail, willingness, and ability to quickly learn allowed her to be promoted to a client serving professional. She administered, processed, and paid real estate property tax
liabilities for over 3,000 properties. After this project concluded, she became an accounting assistant for the tax department. She assisted the professional staff with various client projects
including a large municipal project where she prepared Ohio City business income tax returns for clients nationwide.

Over the past 7 years, Latrenda has worked for a large accounting firm in a dual position as tax administrative assistant and as a project professional. She supports a large team of professionals with their daily schedules and is a bookkeeper for several clients.
Latrenda earned an Associate of Applied Science, Accounting from Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio.

Client Case 1: Litigated Divorce Settlement
Challenge
High net-worth couple negotiating marital assets during divorce. Client challenged spouse's business valuation, the value of which affected the overall estate and financial settlement.
Solution
Explore the purpose of the original business valuation and its impact on the valuation conclusion. Apply methodologies specific to divorce resolution to reach a revised conclusion.
Results
Client was able to favorably "move the needle" on settlement negotiations by more than 15% of the value of the overall marital estate without going to court.
Client Case 2: Mediated Divorce Settlement
Challenge
Husband and Wife negotiating child/spousal support in a mediated environment.  There are three children and husband is self-employed with un-filed tax returns.
Solution
Educate the couple on the importance of financial transparency in divorce negotiations.  Assist Husband in completing the filing of delinquent tax returns and coach Wife to trust their shared mutual devotion to their children that with patience, would produce the desired result.
Results
Transparent financial statements were completed for Husband's business, allowing for a valid basis to assess income available for support. A transitional financial plan was formulated to assist Wife as she regained employment and the family transitioned from one household to two in an amicable child-focused fashion.
